I was talking to my sister (who's a teacher in ICA, prep) and she told me how the ICA sorting hat works! :P Apparently, we were chucked into the sections according to our age. First section young ones, last section oldies! Kaya pala parati akong last section! Hahaha saka sabi nya usually daw yung birthdays ng mga tao dikit dikit, kase nga nakaayos na pinasok. So kung meron daw biglang malayo yung birthday, baka mga siningit lang yun. Hehehe :P I tried to recall my sections, and grabe! Di ko na matandaan! Hahahaha! Buti nalang nahanap ng kapatid ko yung lumang mass book, kaya ngayon nafill ko na yung holes in my list. Hehehe. Grabe yung mga naaalala kong section ko, yung mga sa kapatid ko! Hahaha pano ba naman yung mga libro mga hand-me-downs, tas shempre pinentel pen na ni Mader dear ang mga section ni sistur doon. Now I'm a confused child. =P Anyway here're my sections, for posterity's sake: - Kinder - Daisy
- Prep - Lotus
- Grade 1 - St. Rose of Lima
- Grade 2 - St. Therese
- Grade 3 - St. Rita
- Grade 4 - St. Veronica
- Grade 5 - Generosity
- Grade 6 - Modesty
- Grade 7 - Joy! (Thanks Grace! ;)
- HS I - .........Piety?
- HS II - .........Patience [ andito ba ako sa gitna nitong 2? ] Prudence
- HS III - Mercy!!! Tama diba? :)
- HS IV - Hope! Hopians! Haha
Those in bold are the only ones I actually remembered. Grabe yung iba di ko na matandaan! Huhuhuhu! Nung Grade 7 di na ata ako nagmamass book, wala na.... *tear* (this is the part where you ask me, why the long face? Badabim-badaboom! Hahaha) Hope someone cud shed some light on this matter =( And I thought I'd never forget... aww :( Like I thought I wud never forget everyone in my class from Kinder - Grade 4. In order pa! Haha pero parang di ko na rin ata matatandaan =(
So I had this ingenious idea of holding off having a haircut until I really really really had to. Thus, I only get, at most, 2 haircuts a year (saving me megabuckeroos, YEBA!) But now, I've seen the error of my ways. Now I've megasplitendsaroos! It's fascinating, aktwally. Cos when I look in the mirror, the tips of my hair shine. AMAZING! Sorta like those sticks na parang may plastic strings/sticks whose ends look like stars. Anyway I've searched the net and they say the only cure is to get it cut. They said something about twisting yer hair then ..I dunno if I understood correctly... but it's like they're saying you shud snip yer hair. Like cut through it. Tho ewan ko pano mangyayari magically na hindi magugupit yung lahat ng buhok mo So di ko ginagawa yun hahaha Funny thing is, the lighting here in the office is purrrrrrrfect for spotting split ends. I'm very very very very tempted to cut them. Hahaha getting paid whilst doing mundane things like stapling my bag (and shoe! haha quick fix), cutting split ends.. hahaha panalo x) But of course I don't. Cos they might barrage me with tasks nyahahaha. And it'd weird cos there'd be hair all over the floor. (ew) Can't go to the parlor tho, cos I sorta don't like going there. Dati nga nagtatago pa ko sa shower tas iiyak pag nakita kase kailangan kong magpagupit. Anyway I hope I can resist cutting my hair. I wish somebody at home had split ends I cud cut cos it's kinda fun.(loser haha!) I just have a hard time doing it on myself cos of the whole mirror-forward-is-backward-left-is-right thing. *snip*snip*
Ermmm anyone know how I can change the banner of my multiply page? I mean, aside from setting the background image (kase bg image yun eh)

Hrmmm update.. update.. Uhmmm si Pepper amoy tuyo.
Mygads! What a sad life I lead! The only news I can come up with is that my dog is stinky! (Which isn't really news... he always stinks hahaha! Yun bago lang, amoy tuyo na sya. Nyay!)

Grabe di na ko marunong mag blog. Anyway I went to National Bookstore Cubao (a treasure trove of cheap reads), and I got myself sumore humor books! *yay!* I remember back when I was younger, I'd read stories of kids going to the public library and borrowing books. And I'd think "Aw, I wish we had that here." Those were the days of Sweet Valley, Enid Blyton, Encyclopedia Brown. Kakamiss And pre-teen books with illustration of lanky girls (Roald Dahl-esque drawings). Anyway I was thinking it'd be great cos it'd justify my buying more books. Aaaaaaaaand I'll get to nazi my books to people! NYARRRR! Wouldn't that be sweet tho? It'd be nice if there were a place like that in malls, where just for a couple of bucks, you get your choice of books and get to hang around and read as long as you want without worrying that you're ruining a supposedly new book or that you're overstaying. The place to go to if you're waiting for your sister cos you're hitching a ride. Or if it's raining really hard and you're too full to eat and too tired to walk around. Thinking about it made me all giddy! Haha loser! Yun nga lang, how'd it make money? I was thinking I'd charge for entrance, uber cheap like P 10 or P 20, just to get in. But... lugi pa rin ata! Hahah cos of course once you're in you're supposed to have access to the books. Hmmm... Also, how can you be sure they won't tear pages off and crap? I can't remember who told me this, all I remember is it was a dude. Sabi nya nung grade school ata or high school, whenever someone would bring a dirty magazine (FHM/Playboy etc) it'd get passed around the class tas yung mga nakikihiram parang, "Uy sexy to ah! *riiiiiiiiiiiip!*" Tas pag balik dun sa may ari, kulang-kulang at gutay-gutay na! Hahaha! But mygads, that'd be annoying! Especially if the books're hard to find. Anyway the library dream wouldn't work well with my collection cos majority of the ones I have are bathroom reads x) Books you can read in 10 mins' seating. Funny children's books and cartoon collections that.. well... you don't really have to finish. :( So I doubt it I could live off the P 10 - 20 entrance fee. Oh, first time I thought about it, I was thinking it could be more like a private library. Something simple... Not so much a business venture but rather, an earning hobby. Kaso yun nga, my babies! How can I be sure they're not gonna rip the pages off, or worse --- pilfer my purty potty comics? Here, read. Seinfeld has a point! Haha "What's amazing to me about the library is it's a place where you go in you can take out any book you whant they just give it to you and say bring it back when you're done."It reminds me of like this pathetic friend that everbody had when they were a little kid who would let you borrow any of his stuff if you would just be his friend. That's what the library is. A government funded pathetic friend. And that's why everybody kinds of bullies the library. I'll bring it back on time ... I'll bring it back late.... Oh, what are you going to do? Charge me a nickel?"
I'd be the pathetic friend! Hahaha anyway I've rambled on too long. Need to find a good book. *hay* Hanggang pangarap na lang
 | Category: | Restaurants | | Cuisine: | Chinese | | Location: | Ground Floor, South Entrance, Gateway Mall Araneta Center, Cubao (LRT2 ground floor, across the entrance nearest Body Shop) |
Last Sunday, the impossible happened! Alec ventured out of the house and actually went to the mall. *cheer* Anyway somehow I convinced him to eat at Duck Duck Chinese Gourmet (I've been craving good siomai for the longest time :P)
If you take the MRT, you've prolly seen their poster along the walkway from Farmer's to Gateway. First time I saw it, made me drool and crave for Chinese food =P~ Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyway, unfortunately (or fortunately?) it's not at the food court so it's not that easy to spot if you don't know the north from the south entrance (which I din't. Columbus, I ain't wahehe)
It's at the ground floor, right across the entrance nearest to Body Shop. When we got there it was hella easy to get a seat cos NO ONE WAS EATING THERE. Granted, twas 4:00PM. Still... sadness and sorrow :(
Upon arrival they serve fried ..wonton wrapper? Hahaha that sounds so lame! Di ko lam ano yun eh, basta something fried, just enuf salt, and ..fried. Twas yummy in its own simple way. *drifts off* I kid I kid I kid :)
Anyway, the cheapos that we are, we decided to order 2 orders of pork siomai (65 an order) and yang chow fried rice (145). Alec had qualms about the place, thinking the food might be a little overpriced. When the food arrived, he (and I, actually) was a bit disappointed at how little rice we got for P145. But in fairness, it had shrimp and asado innit. But still, I think any man with a voracious appetite could've eaten the rice by himself. It was really only good for two.
Parang bad review ba? Pero hinde, hinde.. ito na yung good part. The siomai! The siomai *drool* THE Siomai. THE SIOMAI!
One bite of the siomai and you know you'll be coming back =P~ I've been eating crap-ass siomais for a long time that I've forgotten what it should taste like.
Sarap! :) And at 65, mura na sya compared to the other Chinese restos you see around the mall. Anyway yun lang. Ke haba haba ng sinabi ko, ang kinahinatnan lang naman ay eto:
Kain kayo siomai sa Duck Duck! :) Panalo. Hehehe.
Other stuff (ala F): Parking? I wudn't know since Alec din't bring his car. CR? I wudn't know since I didn't go (tho I don't think they have one inside). Service? Okay na, not too quick, not to slow. Saka you get the krezi fried wonton anyway so me pantawid gutom nyaha. Can't remember but I think they do have the usual service charge.
Ambiance is okaaay. Got nice plates! Hehe!
I dunno if the place gets packed during lunch time / dinner time, but it's too bad they got a bit of a lousy location :(
Here's the menu, but it's a bit outdated (pork siomai used to be 45 but is now 65) yowza, uber old flyer >_< Sorry, forgot to get a new one.
Review from Alec: Masarap yung siomai pero mahal yung kanin. Sulit yung siomai.
(Jeco sidenote: Siguro mag-plain rice nalang kayo haha)

Got this e-mail off a ygroup.. hehe kulit!
This has got to be one of the funniest things I've heard of in a long time. I think this guy should have been promoted, not fired. This is a true phone call from the Word Perfect Help line which was transcribed from a recording monitoring the customer care department. Needless to say the HelpDesk employee was fired; however, he/she is currently suing the WordPerfect organization for "Termination without Cause." This is actual dialogue of a former WordPerfect Customer Support employee. Now I know why they record these conversations!
"Ridge Hall computer assistance; may I help you?"
"Yes, well, I'm having trouble with WordPerfect."
"What sort of trouble?"
"Well, I was just typing along, and all of a sudden the words went away."
"Went away?"
"They disappeared."
"Hmm. So what does your screen look like now?"
"Nothing."
"Nothing?"
"It's blank, it won't accept anything when I type."
"Are you still in WordPerfect, or did you get out?"
"How do I tell?"
"Can you see the C: prompt on the screen?"
"What's a sea-prompt?"
"Never mind, can you move your cursor around the screen?"
"There isn't any cursor: I told you, it won't accept anything I type."
"Does your monitor have a power indicator?"
"What's a monitor?"
"It's the thing with the screen on it that looks like a TV. Does it have a little light that tells you when it's on?"
"I don't know."
"Well, then look on the back of the monitor and find where the power cord goes into it. Can you see that?"
"Yes, I think so."
"Great. Follow the cord to the plug, and tell me if it's plugged into the wall."
"Yes, it is."
"When you were behind the monitor, did you notice that there were two cables plugged into the back of it, not just one?"
"No."
"Well, there are. I need you to look back there again and find the other cable."
"Okay, here it is."
"Follow it for me, and tell me if it's plugged securely into the back of your computer."
"I can't reach."
"Uh huh. Well, can you see if it is?"
"No."
"Even if you maybe put your knee on something and lean way over?"
"Oh, it's not because I don't have the right angle -- it's because it's dark."
"Dark?"
"Yes, the office light is off, and the only light I have is coming in from the window."
"Well, turn on the office light then."
"I can't."
"No? Why not?"
"Because there's a power failure."
"A power... A power failure? Aha, Okay, we've got it licked now. Do you still have the boxes and manuals and packing stuff your computer came in?"
"Well, yes, I keep them in the closet."
"Good. Go get them, and unplug your system and pack it up just like it was when you got it. Then take it back to the store you bought it from."
"Really? Is it that bad?"
"Yes, I'm afraid it is."
"Well, all right then, I suppose. What do I tell them?"
"Tell them you're too stupid to own a computer"
Hahahaha! Anyway yeeey html tags work!

Weird.
Anyway hope I catch this week's episode.
